Let the record stand that it's Jan in NYC and 71 degrees out today.

We're going to die.

I'm pretty tired.

I say, I like your backpack.

She goes, it's not a backpack and stares at me funny.

I feel defensive, think she's slightly retarded.

Then I say, it sure looks like a backpack, it's got two straps for the shoulders, and it goes on your back.

She goes, it's a breast pump. You can get one if you really want to.

I blush and walk away.

Hello heat wave and other climate scares.
Peace of mind and knowing you're not contributing to choking the earth and your future childrens' lungs costs $50/year. Why people wouldn't want to do this baffles me. I don't even own a car and I feel guilty enough. We're killing ourselves for oil - a loaded statement in many ways - but true. This company will reduce the EQUIVALENT of your car's carbon dioxide pollution through clean energy projects for a mere $50. It's either do what little we can do, or wait for JanSport to make cool-looking asthma inhaler cases for your kids to show off at school. How about an "InPod," iPod/inhaler? Anything is possible.

sidebar: Mexoryl has just recently been approved by the FDA. Finally, a sunblock that will block wrinkle and skin cancer causing UVA rays (different from sunburn inducing UVB rays). I swear, our country... mmmmph! No comment, but it's been available since 1993 in Europe.

Now I can finally wear sunblock I'm not allergic to. Did I not tell you? I developed an allergy to sunblock this year. Really great timing.

super sidebar: I started painting my living room last night. It looks fabulous. I'm really happy with how the color turned out. Here's the online swatch (which of course, never looks like the real deal), but you get the idea. It's actually a bit more saturated in color than it looks here.

I'm so excited. It goes really well with the Noguchi lamp a generous friend recently gave me.

Hoping to add this to my collection:
